1) CONTRA A VIVISSECÇÃO DE ANIMAIS NA UNIVERSIDADE DE UTAH, NOS EUA:
Investigaçao revela uma enorme lista de abusos: camundongos com pernas paralisadas, com crises epiléticas induzidas e com enormes tumores que cobrem todo o seu corpinho e deixados em estado de sofrimento. Um coelho foi deixado 4 dias sem comida e sem água. Animais morrendo sem nenhum cuidado veterinário. Animais mortos em gaiolas com seus companheiros ainda vivos que, para alcançarem comida, devem caminhar sobre os cadáveres.

Dear sir/madam,
I was shocked to learn about the painful experiments conducted on homeless dogs and cats as well as monkeys, rats, mice, rabbits, and other animals inside University of Utah laboratories.
I was especially upset to learn that the university buys cats and dogs from animal shelters for use in cruel and deadly experiments.
The majority of medical schools in the U.S., have replaced their use of live animals in physiology, pharmacology, and/or surgical-training exercises with humane and effective non-animal teaching methods. Besides saving countless animal lives, alternatives to animal tests are efficient and reliable. Non-animal methods usually take less time to complete, cost only a fraction of what the animal experiments that they replace cost, and are not plagued with species differences that make extrapolation difficult or impossible.
Diseases that are artificially induced in animals in a laboratory are never identical to those that occur naturally in human beings. And because animal species differ from one another in many biologically significant ways, it becomes even more unlikely that animal research will yield results that will be correctly interpreted and applied to the human condition in a meaningful way.
I urge you to end the practice of using shelter animals, who are awaiting a second chance at life, for any purpose in the university’s laboratories. Moreover I urge you to replaced the use of animals in laboratories with modern Non-animal methods.

Dear sir/madam,
I am writing you to express my deepest concern regarding the use of monkeys in space radiation studies. I am outraged and very dismayed, this horror must stop, immediately. Monkeys are sentient beings who experience pain and suffering. The use of monkeys in such experiments is both unethical and cruel.
Diseases that are artificially induced in animals in a laboratory are never identical to those that occur naturally in human beings. And because animal species differ from one another in many biologically significant ways, it becomes even more unlikely that experiments on monkeys will yield results that will be correctly interpreted and applied to the human condition in a meaningful way.
Genetic, physiological, and anatomical differences between humans and monkeys dramatically limit the conclusions that can be drawn from the planned studies.
Please, implement alternatives to animal experiments.
